  • From my dream journal

    Dream journal

    Dreams

    I keep a #dream #journal...it is filled with "random" ideas. I keep the journal next to my bed. I still struggle to write everything down and/or remember everything. Sometimes I will read later and think: "Wow, did I really dream that!?" It is amazing how quickly one forgets your dreams. You just have that split moment to remember and write it down. My dreams are not very Jungian. The symbology of my dreams often perplexes me. Here is an example of the last few days of dream journal entries: Sometimes I just write a sentence...of what remains in my head ...sometimes it is much more clear.

    6/9 - The only thought left: Be original in your thinking

    7/9 - I made complex calculations about the impact of pyramids on the development of society - trying to find simplicity

    8/9 - I design four types of buses to transport school children - trying to find out the long term impact of these buses.

    9/9 - I did some business analysis of a design I must develop for a business

    10/9 -Very vivid dream of a tower collapsing. Children were playing in a pool beneath the towers. I was in the building feeling how it is swaying. (Did this connect with 911 towers of the world trade center?)

    11/9 - I try to standardise a procurement process.

    12/9 - I am calculating a linear curve through space, through which goods will be delivered from one planet to another. When a vehicle travel along the trajectory, it's shadow takes on the form of a cat.

    13/9 - I am a farmer who tries to calculate the constant forces within farming.

    14/9 - I struggle with how one establishes a collective consciousness to resolve conflicts and solve problems.

    15/9 - I help a well known actor to develop electrical circuits....he needed it to play a voice message to me.

    16/9 - I sort out my finances

    17/9 - An indian tribe demonstrates to me how they fought their wars on wooden platforms at sea.

    18/9 - I am part of a motorbike gang driving on the open road.

    The common theme is calculating, analysis and interacting with various groups of people. I can see how various things that I deal with surfaces in my dreams. Sometimes the dreams are clear with stories and at other times just a vague memory. I can often relate my dreams to actual events.  For example when I had to deal with financial matters my dream was about finances. Another interesting observation when I look at my dreams; then I realise that there is a wide variety of dream topics.

    Do you remember your dreams?

  • I try to remember my dreams, but that only seems to happen when I am totally exhausted.  I keep pen and paper by my bed, but sometimes when I wake up from a dream, I'm just too tired to write them down!  It sounds as if you truly want to solve the world's problems in your dreams!

  • I remember my dreams most of the time.

  • I rarely remember my dreams but when I sometimes have a strong impression of the dream, I can remember and write it down.

  • I seldom have a dream these days.  But, when I was a kiddo I used to dreamed about almost everything and sometimes my happened in real life shortly after, especially when I dreaming about the dead of people around me.  I've seen my exams (2 different important exams) results in my dream one day before the results announced and when the result out, they're exactly same as in my dreams.  That scared the hell out of my dad, he tried to cured me then, seeking help from Church people and etc, etc, etc, but the dreams keep coming back.  And, one day, it just stopped completely.

    I don't want to remember my last night's dream... because of that dream I almost peeing on the hard thick mattress... gerrrrr

  • Most dreams seem to be based on current experience - sort of like running through the brain's storage function to strip out the unnecessary and reenforce the important. Often dreams use symbols as sort of shortcuts. Jung and Freud probably made more of dreams than they really deserve - but they are handy ways to entertain yourself at night

  • yes almost always unless i am extremely upset and stressed...  you maybe channeling spirits.

  • I remember some of them and it sounds very much like yourself, they can be very vivid or just remembering the essence and sometimes just this vague recollection... I try to write them down but more often than not I do get around to it or I go back to sleep because waking to write is enough most of the time to wake me for the day.

    Aside from the scientific categorizing of what kind of dreams you are having, how do they make you feel?  You can take it as a rhetorical question but I believe that dreams help us on an emotional level too.

  • @songoftheheart - It is fascinating to get a glimpse into one's dream world. I also find it difficult sometimes to wake up and write my dream down....I hope perseverance will lead to mastery.

    @Shining_Garnet - Wonderful that you do.
    @MeLaNcHoLyPePPeR - Interesting. I wonder when a dream makes a strong impression.
    @RestlessButterfly - Thank you for sharing your approach to dreams.
    @tychecat - Yes, if I look at my dreams then it often reflects on issues of the day. Still remain fascinating to think why we dream.
    @LadyofWaters - I do not think I am channeling spirits...merely dreaming.
    @RealityDreams - Interesting concept. Dreams sometimes are loaded with emotional content. Personally I am more a mental than an emotional type of person.  My dreams seldom make me experience negative emotions mostly dreams leave me with a positive emotion.

  • The most part of what you utter seems awesome that's the stuff I consider
