Escaping the prison of despair

Escaping the prison of despair
Only shadows are seen in the prison of despair.
Voices in the distance rumble through the air.
Knowledge gained through observation
requires vision and action for retention.
Inner light of truth illuminates the soul. The Greater light seen only through a hole.
Perpetual is the cycle of imprisonment,
unless the promise is seen of accomplishment.
Suffering and fear but an illusion of the mind
the promise of freedom is for man of all kind.

Great poem. It’s important to open your eyes.
Funnily, I just thought of a brilliant retort from a comedienne to a heckler: Said the heckler, “When are you going to sleep?” Replied the comedienne: “When you wake up.”
Not quite the same as your poem, but along those lines.
Thank you for the positive feedback
Freedom is wonderful!
Indeed freedom is!!
I don’t know why this is so hard to understand for so many!
I think it is because the reality that surrounds us is sometimes blinding us from seeing the truth.
I would love to be free.
You might be more free than what you see yourself as being free.Just see the light and know there is always hope.
Thank you for posting this…I really needed to read it today.
You always lift me up!
Thank you!
