  • Beauty of trees

    The beauty of trees

    A photographic journey

Peaceful they stand to nurture the breath of man

absorbing the light shedding a shadow for rest

swaying in the wind, growth invisible to the quick eye

an ecosystem that harms none yet endangered by man

Through ages absorbed as the symbol of life

the eternal movement toward heaven while rooted

pass them by unaware of the service rendered

as closely connected as the breath itself

Time does not exist, while structure persist

the journey of a tree is to be

there in the moment to whomever passes by

to find peace in a tranquil embrace

  • Nice video of trees.

I love trees and have hugged many.
The poem is really cool.  I like the way it ends.   Trees really do embody being in the moment.

  • There are some trees that really do make me feel like embracing them.  Some seem to have an energy about them.  I love trees, and they always bring on peace and tranquility.  Lovely poem!

  • That is a wonderful poem. I love trees… and finding the face of The Green Man within. They give off such a peaceful feeling.

  • Very nice photo-essay, Jurgens.

I have always liked trees – the more the merrier – and have been lucky enough to spend my retirement -or much of it anyway – living in forested areas. The only way to get to our house here in Florida is down a long “Canopy Road”which means one where the oaks meet as a covering over the entire road – for miles.
